Upside Down and Backwards
Upside Down and Backwards
I came into the room the other day to find The Boy reading.
My mother-in-law says my husband used to do this too.
That is how I pulled a muscle in my tongue. At Grandma and Grandpa's hanging upside-down reading Trixie Belden and eating cherries. I was probably 7. That really hurt!

Posted by: Frazier at August 1, 2005 10:41 AMSo this is what my daughter will be doing in a few years?
Posted by: Sarah G. at August 1, 2005 12:25 PMWhen I was in elementary school, the library where my mother worked had several really comfortable upholstered diamond chairs http://www.20cdesign.com/seatingpages/DiamondChairs.htm
scattered here and there. Since I was a bookworm and a pretty well-behaved kid, there were days that she just brought me to work with her and instructed me to just read quietly, and my favorite thing to do was to drape myself across one of those chairs sort of diagonally upside down. Those were great times.
I don't remember specifically reading while being upside down but I remember hanging like that for hours. Also standing on my head against the wall. Thinking I was WAY cool.
Kids are so cool aren't they?
Maybe grownups should hang upside down more often.
