Potty Time

I despair that we will never reach the day when I don't have to remind a dancing child that they might want to make a run to the bathroom. And even more annoyingly, sometimes they argue most forcefully that they don't need to go and if I left them off they have accidents and if I make them go they pee for five minutes straight, but they never believe I have the power to divine when they need to go.

And then we have the most recent conversation.

Me: Middle Girl, do you need to go potty?

Middle Girl: No. I'm not holding my crutch.

Comments

You just described life with my middle boy. I call it potty denial.

This too shall pass ...

We seem to be getting out of this phase for our youngster, but there are still those times when he makes a bee-line for the bathroom. You hear the seat slammed up, and you hope to hear the sound of a liquid stream hitting standing water in a toilet bowl.

If the next thing you hear is "MOM!", then your spirits sink a little bit, knowing there's a mess to clean up. That's part of the cost of parenting, though.

After all, it's just a "crutch", right?! ROFLMAO

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has to insist on trips to the bathroom!
