I'd Love to See the Reaction
I'd Love to See the Reaction
Hippie German School sent home a survey for the parents about all sort of things -- Who they could hit up for money? What we love/hate about the place? What we do for a living? What our top three sources of news and current events are?
I'm not sure which is going to annoy people more -- that I chose to call myself a housewife or that my top three news sources were NPR, blogs and National Review.
I listen to NPR all the time in the car and it drives the kids nuts.
I heard a wonderful interview with Albert Brooks about his new movie and I can't wait to see it.
What a funny man.
Jordana,
Have you blogged fully about what you like about the HGS and why you chose it? I'm presuming it's a Waldorf school and there are some things that intrigue me about the movement...
On forms like that I develope a serious attitude in regards to my vocation. I'll put down anything from dog and child management to domestic goddess. If it is a check the box thingy I'll go for reasearch or education as the field and CEO as the position. Sadly I never get any feedback.
Posted by: Sarah G. at January 21, 2006 11:51 PMOn my tax forms, I usually designate myself as "domestic engineer" on the occupation question. I've always wondered what they think when they can't find a W-2! Ha! So far, no audits and it's been 5 years!
Posted by: angie at January 22, 2006 06:07 PMI think the NPR buys you immunity- doesn't it?
Posted by: Lenise at January 23, 2006 12:28 PMLenise, I think National Review might be too much for NPR to completely cover. Assuming they've heard of National Review. Some lefties aren't up on the names of "far" right magazines.
Posted by: Jordana at January 23, 2006 03:08 PMOh, the fun!
Personally, I enjoy writing "Kept Woman" as my occupation on forms. That was liberals and conservatives can be equally offended. :)
