All Grown Up

Our doves have grown up and moved on. One day the mother seemed to be gone. I never saw her near the nest, although I'm pretty sure I spotted her waddling around the yard and my neighbor's yard. The next morning, we came out and one baby was gone and the other was standing next to the nest. We wished him well, returned inside and before we came outside again fifteen minutes later, he was gone. Now all that's left is an empty nest and a lot of bird poop.

Hmmm, there should be an analogy here. Maybe you'll find something like this happening again in about ten years?

Not likely. Children, unlike birds, always come back.

Usually with piles of dirty laundry waiting to be washed.

Godspeed to them! You've gotta have a soft spot for babies (which you clearly do!) =]
