The Beginning

Because my ever increasing girth suggests that we might just be having a baby this fall, we started our homeschooling year this morning, so that, if I need to take a longish vacation to recover and get used to the baby and lack of sleep, I can.

So far so good. It's going to take a while for the kids to get the idea of narrating what they hear and read back to me, but I think we can get it.

Prepare yourself. The mental challenge of homeschooling always causes my brain to simmer, esp. at the start of the schoolyear.

It's downright exhausting, even teaching the little kids. I figure it's because we use brain cells that go dormant during the off months.

Take care.

We started school early when baby #5 was on its way. Then we took 4 months off--so relaxing and we were able to really take the time to enjoy her!
