Sick Blogging, Again

Just as Justin and I were finishing up folding the mountain of laundry on our bed so that we could go to sleep last night -- already later than we'd hoped at 11:30, The Boy came in crying and covered in vomit. Justin started cleaning him off and I went upstairs, to find he'd hit everything on his bed including the dust ruffle. He'd also gotten a lot on the rug, the floor and his dresser. So I stripped the bed and started cleaning everything else. We threw a load of laundry in the washer and made a pallet on the floor in our room for The Boy. Not that anyone got much sleep, all night long he threw up about every 45 minutes, even long after there was nothing left to throw up.

The school secretary says its going around, which means we'll probably all get it.

Although I'm inclined to feel whiny, especially after the diarrhea all over the floor incident this morning and pulling a muscle in my shoulders while washing my hair, I really feel more sorry for my husband who despite lack of sleep still had to put on a suit and be in court at 8:15 this morning.

Well, bless all of you, Jordana. The best thing I can say is that they do grow out of it. The same thing has happened to us--there's nothing quite like walking into the kid's bedroom and it looking like a scene from The Exorcist.

At least in The Exorcist the stage-hands would clean up the mess.

I'm sorry to hear of the sickness going around y'all. Hope it clears up for you soon.

PS That's what Dad's are for - helping you out at night then going out next day to bring home the bacon (or Spam if that's what you like!).

Well as bad as it was, and I know just how bad it can be - I think one bright spot in the whole thing was that you were still awake when he got up sick. Somehow, it was always harder when you wake up from a dead sleep ( which is how we moms always sleep) and have to go cope with vomit soaked bedding, child, floor, etc.
My hope for you is that the next one to fall - falls during daylight hours.

Sorry to hear it =[ Doesn't sound fun. I hope he feels better soon and the rest of the household is spared (somehow!)

OK, so this is the thing about being a mom I am not looking forward to. I hope it is a quick illness at the least and that if you all are going to get it that it happens as best fits the family (which is to say no one gets it, I guess).

Illnesses are suppose to be preapproved. I'm sorry he's sick. I know everyone's miserable.
