Three-quarters of the Way There

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

In a few more days, I will enter my thirtieth week of pregnancy and will begin counting down the last ten or so weeks. Although ten weeks still is plenty long enough to inflict great misery upon me, in some ways it doesn't seem like nearly enough time.

This morning I had my gestational diabetes test, and because my babysitters failed me, I wound up taking my whole herd of cats along with me. I can't really complain too much. I went well prepared with books and drawing supplies, reminded the urchins ahead of time what I expected ahead of time in terms of behavior and they were perfect. Having three attendees along for an hour of waiting room sitting isn't ideal, but it wasn't really so awful.

The worst parts were finding out that I'd gained 5 pounds in the last month and feeling sick from the super sweet drink they give you. I'm a sugar fiend and even I don't like the feeling of all that sugar sitting in my stomach.

Why don't you let me watch them next time? No one that pregnant should have to take extra kids to a doctor's waiting room : )

Does a trip to the Dr. count as part of the homeschool curriculum? P'raps the biology section is now covered? Since they behaved nicely, maybe etiquette can also be checked off.

I can't believe the time is almost here. I'm just glad your cat-herding skills are still sharp.

I figure one has to learn to herd cats if one is going to take more children than one has hands out in public. Let's hope I can manage four. It is possible...right Terry? Right Sarah?

Five pounds doesn't sound like much! It just means the baby's growing well. And three small well-behaved children is a tribute to your parenting. I sure hope I can get MY toddler to start following directions. I don't have a problem with GOYB parenting, it's the Drop-the-Sleeping-Baby parenting that I can't do!

That's five pounds this month, Lenise. On top of the other twenty-five or so that I've already gained...

I'm not one of those women who looks tiny every where but the belly.

Four is doable, but it is amazing how much easier it is when you get to leave one home and it really doesn't matter which one.

Oh, I'm much shorter than you, and I put that kind of weight on both times. Chasing kids and nursing will get you back to your old self before you know it. Don't worry about the weight! It's your chance to eat ice cream all the time!! (I'm still doing it ;), and I weigh less than I did 3 years ago. I'm not really shaped the same way, though...)
